Love travelling.

Love for Dubai.

It was the month of November, 2015 when my family planned to travel to Dubai to which in no time we got our visas and I was all set to explore not only the world of Arabs but to discover myself also. Now as Dubai was the first foreign country I was travelling to, it was also the first time I was going to travel in an airplane and I was super excited for that.

The first to-do was to overcome the fear of an aero plane. The funny thing to me was that we got our seat numbers in the tail of the plane and there are chances that vomiting happens in that portion of the plane when it takes off. So I was already prepared with the paper bag in my hand if in case I vomit. The take-off had my stomach tickling and of course my ears closed until I swallow repeatedly.

When we landed the Dubai airport, I was startled at looking how huge it was. Before arriving at the airport I never knew it is the busiest international airport. My trip was of five days only and I wished if I could stay longer but anything that lasts more than the limited period, it becomes boring even if you love it with all your heart.

UAE, undoubtedly, is a fantastic country but only with artificial beauty. The architecture is breath taking and almost all the Arabic buildings resemble each other because they have the outer structure like a fat tummy. Burj-al-Arab is one of those buildings whose stomach is just a little bit out but it doesn’t look more fat and awkward. On the contrary, Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world and the prettiest. Its height is 829.8 meter long and has 163 floors.

I cannot talk about all the attractions in Dubai because Dubai as a whole is an attraction itself where tourists from all around the globe travel here and spend their most amazing part of life. Out of all the places I traveled, I cannot decide which one was the best and I surely missed a lot of gorgeous places because of the short span of time.

Our first and one of the nicest tourist spots was dinner at cruise. There is a sea where all the cruises stand in a queue and when the boat is almost fully occupied with the customers, the boat starts moving and meanwhile we start having our meals. It’s a really beautiful time spent having food while the boat is running and you feel like you are shooting a movie scene.

Another place that was the most happening was Desert Safari. So far the most hilarious and stupendous experience of my life. They take us on a tour of whole desert. The sand mounds are so high that it seems dangerous to even imagine going on a ride. But once you are in your jeep, you cannot help laughing because it tickles a lot, going up and down and up again on such a bumpy ride. The jeeps’ tires are air loosened before starting the ride so that the jeep become jumpy and easily drivable. Those who have the fear of heights can avoid taking this ride because this can be proved as injurious to them. After we were done with fun riding, we were guided to our camps where a number of stalls were available. Desert Safari has a number of entertainments for its audience. There happens a fire show in which the man literally plays with fire and everyone is taken aback with his brave and fearless stunts. Then comes the Tanoura dance. This dance resembles Sufi dance where the dancers just swirl and swirl and swirl without stumbling even once. The dancers have colorful and lit costumes which become more attractive when they swirl.

The last and most memorable day was spent in Abu Dhabi which is just an hour drive from Dubai. Abu Dhabi is not much fun and exciting as Dubai but we went to two places; Ferrari world and Shaikh Zayd mosque. Out of all the rides in Ferrari world, Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster had me swaddled in its speed. Before riding this roller coaster I had never in my life ever rode any ride but this. A coward like me would have never preferred such dangerous ride but I don’t know what just strike me and I went for it without any second thought.

Throughout our holiday, we kept losing our touch with each other because there were two families and each travelled in two separate cars. Just remember, whenever you go for a vacation with a heavy number of people, make sure you stay in contact and have at least one sim card with each family so that nobody loses their track of someone or somewhere.

I missed more than half of the Dubai but those five days trip is worth reminiscing. UAE is off my bucket list now. Hope you go there some day too.

Sad Feb.

FEBRUARY, LOVE SPREADING MONTH.

What seems good at the outer side, may be corrupted from inside and so was this February. We had never thought this February would bring so many sorrows and so many despairs to a thousands of people. Where people were happy on celebrating 14th February with their loved ones, more than half of the population of Pakistan was mourning the deaths of the beloveds.

This month, this time, this year brought us so many bad memories and so much uncertainty in life that we no longer feel ourselves secure anywhere. Eleven blasts in a month! What can be more depressing than knowing that besides all these heart wrecking incidents, I heard across so many more accidents in my own university? One of them was this lovely girl who was smashed under a bus and lost the battle of her life in front of the door of knowledge, library. Her blood stains have not yet completely faded from the road which keeps reminding me of how uncertain the life is. You never know where the death angel is following you and when you turn around you meet the end of your life.

February has left a bad mark on its name, which I think can never be washed away. February in the name of all the Martyrs.
We can hope our rest of the year goes safe and happy for everyone.

Seasonal fun!

Winterzzz!!

Cozy nights, hot coffee, soft blanket sum up the winter season.
Winters are mostly much awaited because in winters we do not get rid of our daily routines but we are somehow relaxed and do not get any mood swings which usually happen during extreme hot weather and people go crazy. In Pakistan, in Sindh especially, winter season to us citizens is like villagers spotting an aero plane and jumping with joy. Winter season is expected to be started in the end of November and ends by almost the mid of January.

Like any other thing, winter also has its charms and somewhat repulsiveness as well for some people. With the arrival of winters, come so many little joys with huge excitement. People enjoy bonfire late nights and no matter how late it gets, they are never in mood to give up the warm fire and go early to beds.  As the excitement grows, we don’t fail to make the most of our favorite season. Only the smell of hot peanuts can arouse us and what makes us more exciting is buying lots and lots of them. Besides moong phali, all the other dry fruits are also eaten with much interest to keep ourselves warm enough. Coffee, however, is one of the most favorite drinks of people in winters. It’s loved and enjoyed by everyone. Coffee gives its true essence in cold nights only and not in the daytime. When people are in a joyous mood, they go for a cup of coffee and offer others as well. Among foods, oranges, soups, chocolates and honey are also loved because whatever gives us warmth in such breezy nights are considered the most pleasurable part of life. However, out of all the foods and drinks mentioned above, I am only fond of eating soups. People call me mad for not going crazy for coffee though.
L

Winters are surely loved by everyone but there are some drawbacks of it as well. The gloomiest and the most evil point of winters is you have to wake up early in the morning and leave your comforting position only to face the worldly problems all day. What troubles to me in winters is dryness. No matter how ample amount of moisturizers or lotions or crèmes I apply, dryness just wouldn’t go. Also, one of the things I love about this season is you don’t have to worry about the electricity load shedding; you sit there carelessly without fan working as long as its winter only.

Winter days and nights are enjoyed and welcomed whole-heartedly but even before it ends, we get terrified only by thinking about summers and our oozing sweats. We are finally going to say farewell to our adored season and wait for it until next time.

Hope you had your winters well.

Bollywood updates.

Kaabil - Review

Blind people can do anything if trained or habitual of something, I had never seen blinds like in Bollywood movie, Kaabil. Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starring in this movie, played their blind roles exceptionally because playing a blind person can be hard enough if you can actually see everything and still manage to control your eyes functionality. So to sum it up, the acting as blind persons was appreciable but was not too much worth praising especially Yami Gautam’s.
The movie revolves around two blind people who fall in love with each other and apparently prove the phrase, ‘love is blind’.
Taking advantage of their blindness, one of the villains Rohit Roy with his friend attempt to rape Supriya in the absence of her husband Rohan. Having figured this out, they go for medical reports of Supriya but unfortunately fail to get medical evidences against Amit (Rohit) and his friend Wasim. While they overcome this incident a little, next day Rohan reaches home from his work and finds Supriya suicided. He later on figures out she was molested one more time due to which she had committed suicide. He then plans to take revenge from all three; Wasim, Amit and his legistlator brother Ronit Roy who has a great influence on police and not lets any harm reach to his younger brother Amit. All three are murdered by Hrithik in a way that not even the police can take hold of him.
Direction by Sanjay Gupta was okay, production by Rakesh Roshan was also okay because I found the movie a little disturbing.  Songs composed were pretty and simple. I liked the song Saara Zamana performed by Urvashi Rautela and everything about this song; choreography, set, lightings.

Indian movies as always are predictable and so was this one. The scenes and even the dialogues. Bollywood should work on improving its level. I would be lenient enough and give about three stars to Kaabil.

Monthly feelings.

January 2017.

Years passing by and so is life speeding. Another new year to make the most of it so why not try making every month beautiful in every little manner.
J

It has been only a month of 2017 and I have already started feeling some hard challenges coming my way. I had expected January to be polite to me as it was in the beginning but as soon as this month came to an end, it showed me its real face. Life is not always sweet like chocolates and soft like roses; sometimes the chocolate turns out to be unpleasant to us and roses sting us thorns unknowingly.

What I accomplished in this month was:
1. I stopped complaining to Allah about things that bother me but I did not stop praying. I still need a lot of motivations to have leaving everything upon Allah and stay relieved, but that just doesn’t help. Staying calm and live a stress free life is just not my thing.

2. I have become somehow a fast reader. I completed three novel stories in this month and this is a huge achievement for me because I was never this a good reader. The three books were The Floating Girl by Sujata Massey, The Naked Face and Bloodline by Sidney Sheldon.

3. I got a best friend in my home, in my family. I don’t know what the barriers were but I couldn’t build a sister-sister or sister-brother relationship within us siblings. I always wanted someone who could stay next to me and listen to my secrets or problems. And I finally found one this month, that is, my dearest Bhabhi.

Overall, January was not that bad to me. I had more a fun-filled and less a depressing one. I hope your January was also as good as mine or may be even better and I pray that the next months may also brighten up our lives. Looking forward to a not so frantic but a favorable February. :)

Facing the harsh reality.

Hypocrisy, Negativity and Pessimism.

What comes in your mind when you think of today’s modern era? You’ll know the answer by the end of this blog, hopefully. A couple of days ago, I took out some time for myself and as I wonder what to think even before thinking about something; my mind swirled around and stopped at a very strange point that is, why am I such a pessimist person. I have never in my life gotten answer of this but guess what, I have transformed myself into an optimistic person quite a little.
Today I want to write about why there is so much negativity and hatred in our society and how possibly we can terminate all of the negativity from ourselves as well as from our surroundings.

Hypocrisy is what you call backbiting in its ordinary sense. This act has become very common these days that it does no more seem a sinful act to us. Hypocrisy is, according to me, a contagious disease that spreads person by person and I don’t understand what inner satisfaction people get by being a hypocrite. The main reason of playing a hypocrite game is that people often want to show themselves as a very good and innocent person but in real they are like a poisonous snake which when stings, causes death. The second reason is people do this in order to favor someone or they do buttering so that their favorite people do not get their attentions diverted of them. Among these factors count uneducation, nepotism, jealousy etc. which lead people towards hypocrisy which further leads to negativity and the cycle goes on. Negativity, in turn, proceeds to pessimism.

Talking about negativity: it has a negative impact on everyone and everything like an electron possess a negative charge on it but is still important in its own role. Likewise, today our society has become so mean that very few people think about others’ happiness. Caring about others is so rare that it puts a person almost in doubt that there must be some selfishness behind his/her good deed. Generous acts are rather taken suspicious and are often not fruitful. We get negative vibes from people who try to be more polite to us or show their virtuousness and misunderstand people who actually are intended to harm us but pretend to be the sweetest ones. That’s what lacks in most of us, the ability to identify the right and wrong and the fake and real people.
A month ago I was thinking if all the rape cases in Pakistan do actually occur or is it just the media that puts forward such cases and spoils the public’s mindsets about their own country. I think the more media presents such horrifying cases to the world, the more these cases get stronger and increase day by day. This is what I would declare spreading negativity and not having control over it. We need to reduce this.
Coming towards pessimism, as I wrote above that pessimism takes birth from negativity. Being a pessimistic person is equal to living a dead life, having no hopes, no sparks in life, no sunshine in life, nothing. What is the use of living such life? Why do we always forget that whatever has meant to be, it will happen and our hopeless thoughts are not going to change anything, whether good or bad. I used to be a person like this but not anymore. I try to live a tension free life and am always looking for solutions of problems that trouble me instead of weeping over senseless matters like before.
My aim of writing all about this was that there are many major issues that we come across daily in our lives but are passed unnoticed, should also be given a thought and that we all could work on reducing these troubles in one way or the other.

Stay happy and spread happiness.

Rebecca with America part 5 (Some funny moments)

Some funny moments from the beginning till the end of journey.

-When we landed at Abu Dhabi airport and we were heading towards the waiting lounge, my brother spotted Bobby Deol going. I ran after him, trying hard not to act like some desperate Pakistani. :D I went to him and asked him if he could make a picture with me. How will you feel when you get a displeased answer of how are you
L He could have asked me the same question out of courtesy but he didn’t. He sounded so I-don’t-give-a-shoot that he made me actually doubt on myself ‘do I look like some desperate to you?’ Anyway. He was still very young and fresh and handsome and his voice is of course very manly. I was to upload that picture on Facebook but I seemed like an over excited girl with a wide teeth smile. Moral of the story, DON’T EVER RUN AFTER ANY CELEBRITY.

-When we reached at the Paris airport, the airport didn’t attract me as much as the washrooms did. :D Pink, orange, yellow and red colors looked too beautiful to even use the washroom. The wash basins were agrestic enough to put me in confusion ‘do they even have water here to clean hands?’ It was like a snooker table. I tried to move my hands everywhere and figure out the where the water comes from and luckily the water tap finally turned on out of nowhere. NOWHERE.

-A tip from my side, whenever you don’t understand what foreigners are saying because they speak English that crosses your mind, always reply ‘oh yeah okay’ with a smile. I always did this whenever I failed to understand shopkeepers’ words. Trust me it always works. Nothing goes wrong in the end. Once I went to this shopkeeper lady and enquired about the watches. I didn’t get a single word of her reply. I came back and sent my brother again to ask her the same question because I would have sounded some stupid to go back to her and ask the same question again. *face palm*.

-Whenever I had to go somewhere I used to start preparations early because in the beginning the thought of load shedding used to click my mind always *I should iron my clothes first otherwise light will go off*, *I should straighten my hair immediately before electricity goes off* Sigh! Until I became habitual of living an American life, my trip was over already.

-One thing I felt really upset about is in Pakistan my name ‘Rebecca’ has got a huge importance. People tell me how unique my name is every time they hear my name. But in America, name Rebecca is very common. Everywhere I went I used to come across this name mostly. Be it a shop, designer, movie or whatever. I felt really small there after so many Rebeccas.
L

On my return journey to Pakistan, I kept on using the TV from LA till Dubai. I watched movies, shows, played games and listened music. When we landed at Dubai airport I realized my TV screen has got hanged. I wished nobody catches me. Dikha di na apni asal auqat. :D

We came across Sahir Lodhi at Karachi International airport. He is not Bobby Deol so you better understand what I am trying to say. :D

USA has its own charms. There is no dust there, rules and regulations are followed properly and society is disciplined. There are some small cities that target Muslim population there. Today it’s just the small cities, tomorrow it can be highly populated cities as well. I have my own plans here in Pakistan. I have set my mind accordingly. I will never want to leave this country. People tell me it’s a stupid decision not considering the biggest opportunity that is already there waiting for you but let me tell you it is us who suppose the opportunity is for us, actually it’s someone else’s chance to avail when you don’t really want to grab that opportunity. You make your ways, not that the ways are made for you.

Happy Pakistan! Happy Blogging!
